Today, as we face new global challenges, VE Day reminds us of what can be achieved when nations and communities come together with a shared purpose.


Let’s get behind our London Marathon stars
The London Marathon tomorrow is tomorrow and I would like to give a massive shout out to all the people from Aldershot and Farnborough who will be running.


Protecting our country, growing our economy
Labour’s decision to increase defence investment is in the interests of national defence and also in the interests of Aldershot and Farnborough.

We will deliver rapid action to improve military family homes
The Labour Government has announced its intention to publish a Consumer Charter for military families to give them new rights to decent housing.

Protecting residents from the devastating impact of floods
The Government has announced record funding for flood prevention schemes, including Cove Brook, to protect homes and businesses.

Grants for repairs to listed places of worship
I have written to local religious groups urging them to apply for funding to repair or improve their premises.
FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA
I had the privilege of visiting 11th Brigade and the Irish Guards in Aldershot today. It was great to hear more about their rich and varied history, and the vital role they, and their families, play today in the defence of our country and as part of the greater NATO alliance.
