One of the most important responsibilities of serving as your Member of Parliament is fighting for the foundational services that keep our community safe, healthy, and resilient.
Whether I am speaking with families at my regular advice surgeries or listening to residents on their doorsteps in Aldershot and Farnborough, a common truth unites us: we deserve world-class public services that match the ambition and scale of our towns. That is why I am incredibly proud to share a monumental update that represents a transformative leap forward for local healthcare.
The preferred site for the brand-new Frimley Park Hospital has officially been announced, marking the beginning of a landmark £1.5 billion investment in our community’s future. This funding will deliver state-of-the-art, purpose-built emergency, inpatient, and maternity services on a section of the Pine Ridge Golf Club site.
Delivering this new build is something I have campaigned for tirelessly. For too long, patients and our brilliant NHS staff have been forced to work around RAAC-affected buildings that are simply no longer fit for purpose. I fought hard from day one to ensure our community secured the new hospital it desperately needs as quickly as possible, so it is incredibly rewarding to see this vital project moving forward into its next phase.
But building a modern hospital is only one part of the equation. As we move away from years of public sector decline toward a period of patriotic national renewal, our vision for health must be about more than just a single site. True investment means ensuring that modern medicine is coupled with localized care, shifting the gravity of healthcare back into the heart of our neighbourhoods.
To bring healthcare closer to home, I am working with the Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust to push for a brand-new Community Diagnostic Centre right in the heart of Farnborough. Combined with my ongoing support for local assets like the Aldershot Centre for Health, we are creating a network that is quicker, easier to access, and closer to where people live. Under this model, outpatient and community services will remain at the current Frimley Park site, fully utilizing its recently modernised buildings.
With the preferred site now named, the absolute priority shifts to the crucial next steps: engagement with the public. This £1.5 billion project will shape our region for generations, which is why it is vital that local residents have their say. We must ensure our community’s voice is heard loudly and clearly—particularly when it comes to developing robust, accessible transport links to the new site.
