A £20 million boost for Cherrywood
Working together, Alex Baker MP and Rushmoor Borough Council have secured £20 million to invest in the Cherrywood community through Labour’s ‘Pride in Place’ programme.

100 Days to Go: Armed Forces Day is coming home to Aldershot

New Farnborough Leisure Centre plans get the green light
An exciting new leisure centre in Farnborough was given the go-ahead on Wednesday night in what campaigners have hailed as a ‘major victory for local families’.

Supporting our Armed Forces and their families in times of crisis
There is a sizeable number of civilians and service families with local connections in the Middle East or with loved ones there. They are facing an incredibly challenging and dangerous time and I have been working very hard with my Parliamentary colleagues to make sure everyone is safe.

Sink holes, potholes and gaps in accountability
Residents are rightly asking when lasting repairs to our roads will be delivered. I have met the Conservative-run County Council to press for clear timelines, transparent communication and a firm plan for permanent repairs, particularly in areas residents have repeatedly flagged with me.

A new partnership for jobs, pride and prosperity
I was proud to launch the Aldershot and Farnborough Growth Partnership last week, bringing together leading local businesses, education providers and the council with a shared mission: to drive jobs, growth and opportunity for our community.

Meet Nicky Slater, our fantastic Labour candidate for Empress Ward.
Having lived here for nearly 30 years and taught in local schools, she knows first-hand just how incredible our community is.
But she has also seen the challenges we have faced in recent years, with our leisure centre demolished and the council pushed to the brink, leaving little investment in the places that matter most.
On the doorstep, residents tell us they want thriving town centres, cleaner streets and a place they can feel proud of. That is exactly what we are working to deliver.
With real investment, plans to revitalise our town centres, and Armed Forces Day putting Aldershot back on the national stage, Rushmoor is moving in the right direction.
So if you want to keep Rushmoor on track, vote Labour, vote Nicky Slater in May.
