It was great to welcome Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds to Farnborough International Airshow to discuss how we can keep championing the incredible businesses and innovation we have here in Farnborough, backing British industry at home and on the world stage.
Showing him around as people from across the globe come to Farnborough to do business was a reminder of just how important our town is and of the even bigger role places like ours can play in Britain's industrial future.
It was also fantastic to see the Business Secretary announce at the Airshow a £600 million package for UK aerospace, including over £500 million through the Aerospace Technology Institute Programme. This is exactly the kind of investment that will support skilled jobs, strengthen our security and create more opportunities for the future. ✈️🇬🇧

It is fantastic to see our new UK Prime Minister backing Farnborough and recognising the vital role defence, aerospace and security sectors here, and across the country, play in keeping Britain safe.
Andy’s ambition for these industries to support half a million jobs by 2030, alongside stronger partnerships with allies through programmes like GCAP, is hugely important for our economy and national security.
For Farnborough, that means more skilled jobs, more opportunities for young people and more investment in the innovation that puts our town on the world stage.
I have worked hard in Parliament to champion Farnborough and will keep making sure our community is at the heart of Britain’s defence, aerospace and national security. ✈️🇬🇧

It was great to pop into Farnborough Football Club last week and speak with Rob and Simon about the club joining the new Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board. 💛💙
After helping to secure £20 million for Cherrywood, we are now moving on to the next stage: bringing together local residents, community organisations and leaders to develop plans for using the funding to create lasting change.
Farnborough FC plays such an important role in our community, bringing people together and building pride in our town, so it is brilliant to have the club helping shape what this £20 million can deliver for our neighbourhoods.The Government recently announced that Cherrywood Ward has been awarded £20 million over the next 10 years through the Pride in Place Programme.
As part of this funding, a Neighbourhood Board has been established, bringing together local partners, organisations and residents to help shape the future of the area.
We are delighted to announce that the club has been offered a place on the Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board.
This will be an opportunity to meet fellow board members, build new relationships, share ideas, and begin developing a shared vision for the future of the area.
