Meet Nicky Slater, our fantastic Labour candidate for Empress Ward.
Having lived here for nearly 30 years and taught in local schools, she knows first-hand just how incredible our community is.
But she has also seen the challenges we have faced in recent years, with our leisure centre demolished and the council pushed to the brink, leaving little investment in the places that matter most.
On the doorstep, residents tell us they want thriving town centres, cleaner streets and a place they can feel proud of. That is exactly what we are working to deliver.
With real investment, plans to revitalise our town centres, and Armed Forces Day putting Aldershot back on the national stage, Rushmoor is moving in the right direction.
So if you want to keep Rushmoor on track, vote Labour, vote Nicky Slater in May.

The government has today announced the creation of a North Hampshire Strategic Authority, merging Rushmoor, Hart, and Basingstoke & Deane as part of their devolution program. But what does that actually mean for us in Rushmoor?
Right now, 85% of our services are delivered by Hampshire County Council in Winchester, with Rushmoor delivering just 15%. Too often, residents don’t know who to turn to, while decisions affecting our area are made far from home.
Today’s announcement would change that, streamlining services under one body, bringing decisions closer to where they matter.
Local elections are still taking place this May, where you'll be voting for your Rushmoor Borough and Hampshire County Councillors, and next year, we’ll vote on this new authority. I will keep pushing for a system that makes local services simpler and more effective for our community in Rushmoor. ... See MoreSee Less

Farnborough Leisure Centre 2027 🏊♀️
Planning permission secured, funding in place, and construction starting this summer.
After families were left waiting for years under the previous Conservative council, we’re getting on with the job and delivering the down payment on the leisure facilities our community deserves.
A clear of example of what we can achieve when working together for Aldershot and Farnborough.

I had a lovely time joining the Rushmoor Binfluencers in Cherrywood over the weekend for the Great British Spring Clean 🌳🗑️
An incredible group of residents, who have been out almost daily in recent weeks, getting across all 13 wards in Rushmoor. They’re not just clearing up litter, but building pride and a shared sense of responsibility for our community.
But we shouldn’t need volunteers to step in between scheduled clean-ups in the first place. That’s why I welcome both the Government’s tougher action on fly-tipping – with fines, penalty points, and offenders made to clean up their own mess – alongside the steps our Labour Council are taking locally by introducing tough fines for fly-tipping.
A huge thank you to the Binfluencers for all that you do. Let’s keep working together to clean up our streets💚

Congratulations to the coaches, players and volunteers at Camberley & Farnborough Hockey Club for your successful #Flyerz Day. Thank you for inviting me to come along and hear how you are giving young people with SEND needs the chance to enjoy inclusive hockey. You should be so proud of all the fun and smiles you have given to the children taking part. 🏑 💙
I’m sure the #FlyersHockey programme will continue to go from strength-to-strength. I’ll continue to champion accessible sport and all our great local sports clubs. 🥅

I’m proud that, working with our Labour Government and Labour council, we’ve secured £20 million for communities in Cherrywood through the Government’s Pride in Place programme.
And the best part - local people get to decide how that money is spent!
I know that residents have felt overlooked looked and underfunded by previous administrations. We’re now changing that, with real investment going to the communities that need it most.

100 DAYS TO GO until National Armed Forces Day 2026 🇬🇧
Loved celebrating today with pupils from Wavell and Marlborough Infants. They got to meet our service personnel, have a seat in the Wildcat helicopter, and hear about the skills and STEM careers behind it all. It was also great to have QinetiQ, a company born in Farnborough, join us as the first platinum sponsors of the event!
After lobbying hard and working with Cllr Sophie Porter to win this bid, it’s fantastic to see the brilliant event Rushmoor Borough Council are putting together starting to take shape.
This was just a taster for the weekend full of celebrations on the 27th June - mark the date! I can’t wait to showcase everything our towns do for our country, and say the biggest thank you to our Armed Forces.

I’ve spoken to learners and driving instructors across Aldershot and Farnborough about the struggle to secure a driving test. A few months ago, I brought local instructors together to discuss how we tackle the backlog and create a fairer booking system.
So it’s really welcome to see the Government now taking action, with tighter rules on booking changes and swaps, and new limits to prevent tests being moved around unfairly 🚗 👇 ... See MoreSee Less

As Nepal prepares to enter a new era of governance, there is a real opportunity to strengthen the UK–Nepal relationship and make progress on the long-standing issues faced by Gurkha veterans.
I have written to the Minister for Veterans and People, bringing together Labour MPs, to urge our Government to engage closely with Nepal’s new leadership. This is a moment to work collaboratively to improve recognition and welfare for Gurkha veterans, while building a new chapter in the partnership between our two nations.
I known this matters deeply to us in Aldershot and Farnborough, where our constituency is home to the largest Nepali community in the country. Every day we see how strong the ties between our nations are, from the extraordinary service of the Gurkhas in our Armed Forces to the many ways Nepali families contribute to the life of our towns. 🇬🇧🇳🇵 ...
