The Renter's Rights Bill comes in to force today, making housing fairer for over 20,000 renters across Rushmoor.

But laws are only effective when they're enforced locally. That's why, working with our Labour councillors, we are:
✅ Ending no-fault evictions for good.
✅ Holding landlords accountable for housing quality.
✅ Taking direct enforcement action where standards aren’t met.

Made possible by a Labour council, working with a Labour MP and Government, to deliver real fairer housing standards for renters.

A real privilege to celebrate Buddha Jayanti today at the Empire in Aldershot, with the Buddhist Centre Community UK (BCCUK).

The BCCUK is a living, breathing community at the heart of Aldershot and home to the largest Buddhist community in the UK. It was also great to hear their plans to further invest in and elevate the centre. Organisations like this really shape our wonderful towns.

It was to come together and reflect on what Dharma means, removing negativity between us, a value at the centre of today’s celebrations.

At a time when the world can feel divided, we need more Dharma in the world. In Aldershot, we stand for a community where everyone belongs and feels proud to call this place home.

Dhanyabad and a very happy Buddha Jayanti to all celebrating.

In the debate regarding the carry-over of the Northern Ireland Troubles Bill, I was clear that veterans in my community needed further reassurances and that I was reserving judgement.

Working with Bayo Alaba MP, I was pleased to facilitate discussion on the Bill between members of the Parachute Regimental Association and Government officials in 10 Downing Street yesterday.

It is vital that our veterans have clear, strong protections from malicious lawfare, and that their voices are heard as this legislation is shaped.

This was a constructive meeting, and both sides committed to continue talks as amendments are brought forward.

The sacrifices made by our Armed Forces in Northern Ireland and beyond must never be forgotten. We must get this right, for our veterans, for victims, and to finally deliver the closure and justice so many have waited for.

The previous Conservative council tore down our leisure centre, leaving a hole in the town centre and families without a swimming pool for years.

Now we are turning the page.
Funding’s secured. Building starts this summer. A new leisure centre by the end of next year.

That’s the difference a Labour MP, working with a Labour council and Government, makes for our community.

Rushmoor's on track. Don’t turn back. Vote Labour, 7 May🌹

For months I have been meeting with veterans, pressing Government Ministers, and written directly to the Secretary of State. My message has been clear: we need stronger protections for our veterans in the Northern Ireland Troubles Bill.

It’s encouraging to see that Ministers have listened, but there is still so much more to do. We need further reassurances. For our veterans, and to finally bring an end to this cycle of uncertainty.

I am reserving my judgement on this Bill until it gives every veteran the clarity and confidence they need.

Congratulations Farnborough and Aldershot Lions Club on another spectacular Classic Car show. This is always a wonderful event and it was great to see our town centre humming with people this weekend. Thank you to everyone who came and helped raise money for good causes, and well done to the organisers for all the hard work that made this possible.

🦁 The Lions make such a difference in our community. If you would like to get involved or find out more about what they do, please check out their Facebook page.

Housing is something residents always ask me about on the doorstep. That’s why we are…

🏠 Providing high-quality homes at Union Yard for local people

🏠 Taking tough action against bad landlords, with enforcement notices and prohibition orders

🏠 Backing the Renters’ Rights Act, banning no-fault evictions and unfair rent hikes

Made possible by a Labour MP working with a Labour Council and Government to deliver fairer and safer housing for residents across Rushmoor

Happy St George’s Day to everyone across Aldershot and Farnborough🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Watching the flag-raising in Aldershot this morning, and being surrounded by our community, I couldn't help but reflect on what makes me proud to be English and the values that define us.

At the heart of St George's story is courage and hope , the belief that goodness can overcome evil, and that strength is at its best when guided by kindness.

When I’m out in our towns I see those values in action every day. In those who serve, and the families and friends in our community who stand behind them, supporting one another.

Wishing you all a very happy St George’s Day!

I was delighted to host my friend General Sir Roly Walker at Cody Technology Park last week, and to introduce him to some of our brilliant local businesses, including SAAB, SiXworks, Sopra Steria, and QinetiQ.

As Chief of the General Staff, he is focused on ensuring that our troops have the best possible equipment to keep this country safe. So it was great to introduce these businesses, which, as well as employing local people, help build so much of that vital defence capability here on our doorstep.

I’m looking forward to seeing this cooperation develop, to increase opportunities for our community and strengthen our national security.
