From the quiet dignity of the services at our military cemeteries to the powerful parades led by veterans, cadets and serving personnel, every Remembrance event I have attended this year reminds me of the courage, sacrifice and hope of those who served and of the families who stood behind them.

A resident raised it - we fixed it. ✅
Graffiti across Blackwater wasn’t being dealt with until we stepped in. After pushing Virgin Media, Hampshire County Council and Royal Mail, it’s now cleaned up and our streets look better for it.

On Armistice Day, I wanted to share this letter from King George VI, which I had the privilege of reading at the Yateley Remembrance Service.
These words ring as true today as they did then - reminding us of the courage, sacrifice, and hope of a generation who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy.

This weekend I attended six Remembrance events across our constituency, including a wonderful service in #Yateley bringing together residents and community groups from #Frogmore and #DarbyGreen. It was a privilege to stand alongside D-Day veteran Dennis Thatcher and give a reading from King George VI’s letter to the children of the Second World War in 1946. #LestWeForget

I’m so happy that Lighting the Graves is being now being shared with the whole country on BBC Songs of Praise. It’s a story that reflects how much our town has sacrificed over generations, but also says something about our community today.
